Why we’re getting behind Scott Cardle and London 2012.
We are delighted to announce that we are now supporting local boxer, Scott Cardle as he attempts to qualify for the London 2012 Olympic Games.
Following the appointment of BMW Group as the Official Automotive Partner of the London 2012 Games, BMW is now actively supporting British athletes, such as Ellie Simmonds and Louis Smith, via the BMW London 2012 Performance Team. Meanwhile, in line with the Performance Team initiative, BMW dealers like us will be working with local athletes, supporting their endeavours to qualify for Team GB or ParalympicsGB.
Scott Cardle trains locally, at the Kirkham & Fylde ABC. Lytham born Scott has been boxing since the age of seven and at just 21 has already won six international tournaments, six national titles and, the OCS Young Sports Person of the Year award.
“I am really grateful to Lloyd Blackpool and BMW for their support,” said Scott. “It’s tough trying to qualify for a place at the Olympic Games and it’s a big help knowing that they are behind us, helping to raise funds and awareness. It’s also fantastic having a brand new BMW 320i M Sport Convertible from now until the end of the 2012 Games. There’s a lot of travelling to heats, competitions and promotional events so it’s great being able to arrive there in style.”
Mark Powell, Dealer Principal at Lloyd Blackpool BMW, said: “This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to get really involved with the 2012 Games. Our staff and customers are keen to support London 2012, so we’re really happy to be backing Scott.”
